I spent much of the past six months thinking about what I wanted to do next. Ultimately, I wanted to exit this offseason of wilderness-wandering with a clear idea of what I missed from my former creative outlets. If I had the energy and freedom to build something new, what would it be about?
Eventually, I figured it out. Everything Else.
Don’t be alarmed. I’m not abandoning the world of sports in favor of a new twice-a-week program about gardening and indie movies. The unofficial title of this show could be “(The Kansas City Chiefs and) Everything Else with Joshua Brisco,” but that’s not quite as catchy.
The bulk of EE’s day-to-day conversation will revolve around the Chiefs. My hope is that we’ll talk about the Chiefs for exactly as long as we should. Huge week of news? Big game on the horizon? Something hilarious on Thursday Night Football? We’re talking ball, baby.
Slow news day? Bye week? Faux-outrage leading the news cycle? In that case, I do actually want to explain how I’m “soft landscaping” as my backyard management strategy, and I would like to make the case for why my sixth watch of Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City was the best one.
I know you have dozens of options for your Chiefs fix and thousands of platforms for coverage of your favorite form of non-sports nonsense. My hope is that, in an age overrun by hot-take clickbait and AI-generated analysis, you’ll join me as we attempt to talk about football while using multiple brain cells before taking some time to review a video game, recommend an article, or explain why I can confidently say I have a “favorite painting.”
Obviously, I’m not doing this alone. Tucker D. Franklin will be piloting this ship with me, and I’m thrilled with how we’ve built out the show’s visual elements, featuring perfect theme music from my friend Darin Breeden.
The show airs Mondays and Fridays from noon-1 p.m. live on the KC Sports Network YouTube channel. (Want more of Tucker? He’s hosting KCSN Live from 12-1 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on KCSN.)
For the (Almost) Entirely Sports loyalists, yes, Beards McFly and Rudy Salazar will be welcomed with open arms for cameos as their busy lives allow. (Beards has a baby! Rudy is engaged and has a real job!)
Wondering if Beards’ Sad Fans is returning? Wonder no more. Sad Fans: Cowboys/Micah Parsons Edition is in episode one.
With this being a brand-new show, we currently have room to add a small number of advertising partners here at the beginning. If you own or work for a company who would like to be in the Everything Else founder’s club, please message me on Substack, Twitter/X or Bluesky.
In the meantime, keep an eye on this Substack. I’m planning to send out post-show newsletters highlighting our topics of the day and other things worth knowing about.
The goal of this project isn’t just maximum wackiness. My hope is that we won’t linger on things that we don’t think are worth our time or energy. That’s going to evolve and take lots of different forms, but I want this show to be a place where the vibes are good, the rules are minimal, and the football is fun.
Then, there’s room for Everything Else.
The first episode of Everything Else with Joshua Brisco is available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and wherever you get your podcasts.

I have never cared less about the NFL in my entire life. I plan on listening to every episode of this. First episode hit like crack to a former AES cultist such as myself
